Communication Summit 2013 plans for needs of future graduates

The College of Fine Arts and Communication at Texas State University will host a Communication Summit Friday, Jan. 18 to discuss the needs of the communication graduate in the year 2020.
The Communication Summit encourages dialog between professionals and academics about ways to develop the 2020 communication mind.
Texas State faculty in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, the Department of Communication Studies, and the School of Art and Design will collaborate with nationally recognized industry professionals in the day long summit. Industry executives include Debbie Hiott, editor, Austin American Statesman; Tony Dieste, chair and co-founder, Dieste Inc., Dallas; Guy Parker, creative counsel and brand guidance, Ambient Way, Houston; Bart Cleveland, former partner and creative director, McKee Wallwork Cleveland, Albuquerque; Don Sibley, Sibley Peteet Design, Dallas; A.J. Josefowitz, 3M, Austin; Stephen McIntosh, Microsoft, Canada.
“These accomplished professionals will collaborate with our faculty to identify innovative ways to educate the 2020 communication graduate,” said Timothy P. Mottet, dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communication. “We want to ensure that Texas State University continues to be a leader in communication education for our future students and the workplace.”
Information and recommendations developed at the Communication Summit 2013 will be provided to faculty, staff and university leaders.
