Texas State hosts American Baseball Research winter meeting

For the seventh consecutive year, the Rogers Hornsby Chapter of the Society for American Baseball Research will hold its annual winter meeting Jan. 12 at Texas State University.
Longtime Houston Astros broadcaster Bill Brown, president of the Texas League Tom Kayser, the voice of the Round Rock Express Mike Capps and other baseball researchers and scholars are scheduled to speak during the all-day event in Old Main room 320.
The event is free and open to the public. A boxed lunch is available to order for a nominal charge, provided the order is placed prior to 10 a.m.
Gilbert D. Martinez, senior lecturer and assistant director in the School of Journalism & Mass Communication at Texas State, is the chapter commissioner and will moderate the winter meeting. Judy Oskam, director of the School of Journalism & Mass Communication, will give opening remarks.
