Fox re-elected to Society of Professional Journalists board of directors

Kym Fox, senior lecturer in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Texas State University-San Marcos, was re-elected to the national board of the Society of Professional Journalists during the group’s annual conference.

Fox will serve her second two-year term as campus adviser at-large for SPJ, the oldest and largest professional journalism organization in the nation. The organization has about 8,000 professional and student members.

The group held its annual convention Sept. 20-22 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., in conjunction with the Radio, Television, Digital News Association (RTDNA).

Fox is coordinator of the journalism sequence in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, where she has taught for 10 years. An award-winning educator, Kym holds a master’s degree from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. Before joining the university faculty, Fox was a daily newspaper journalist for 23 years, including 18 years at the San Antonio Express-News. Her last position at the Express-News was as deputy metro editor.
