The Honors College and the Department of English at Texas State University will hold their annual poetry reading Nov. 15 from 5-7 p.m. in the Honors coffee forum, Lampasas Hall room 407.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will begin with music from the Art Carvajal Quartet at 5 p.m., and poetry readings will be held from 6-7 p.m.
Each year, the poetry reading’s theme goes along with the university’s Common Experience. This year, the event is titled “World Enough and Time” and will feature five English faculty poets reading an international poem in translation. Faculty poets include John Blair, Ogaga Ifowodo, Roger Jones, Kathleen Peirce and Steve Wilson.
The event is part of the Texas State Common Experience theme for 2012-2013, “A Global Odyssey: Exploring Our Connections to the Changing World.” Refreshments will be provided.
