'Bobcat Trees' to be planted at Texas State for Arbor Day

Texas State University will celebrate Arbor Day on Nov. 8 by planting 24 “Bobcat Trees” to replace dead or diseased trees that were removed from campus this year.

Trees planted during event, which will take place in front of the Roy F. Mitte Building at 2 p.m., were selected based on their adaptation to the local climate and soil conditions.

The first 100 people to help plant a tree at the event will receive a T-shirt.

This event comes after Texas State being recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation and Toyota as a Tree Campus USA school last year.
