College Access Project summer camp now accepting applications

The Center for P-16 Initiatives at Texas State University-San Marcos will host free College Access Project Summer Leadership Camps, also known as CAP Camps, June 11-29 for local high-school juniors and seniors to prepare them for college entrance.

The CAP Camps will run 9 a.m.-5 p.m. June 11-15 for all incoming juniors and June 18-29 for all incoming seniors on the Texas State campus. The CAP Camp application deadline is Friday, June 8.

CAP Camp will train students on how to prepare, how to apply and how to pay for college. This training will include assistance with completing college entrance applications, SAT and ACT preparation, essay writing, financial aid applications, scholarship searches as well as Texas State and University of Texas college tours.

Incoming high-school juniors and seniors who are interested in this free camp are welcome to call the Center for P-16 Initiatives at (512) 245-8192 or e-mail Miriam@txstate.edu for more information about the camp and to receive an application. CAP Camp applications must be submitted by Friday, June 8 to the Center for P-16 Initiatives located at 601 University Drive Brazos, Building #111, San Marcos, Texas, or faxed to (512) 245-1896.
