Author Louise Erdrich to hold readings at Texas State, Porter House

The Katherine Anne Porter Literary Center and the Wittliff Collections at Texas State University-San Marcos present readings and book signings from nationally recognized author Louise Erdrich April 5-6.
Erdrich will speak and sign copies of her books at the Wittliff Collections located on the seventh floor of Alkek Library on the Texas State campus April 5 at 3:30 p.m. She will give a second reading the following day at the Katherine Anne Porter Literary Center, located at 508 Center St. in Kyle at 7:30 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public.
Erdrich is the author of 13 novels in addition to volumes of poetry, short stories, children’s books and a memoir of early motherhood. Her novel Love Medicine won the National Book Critics Circle Award. The Last Report on the Miracles at Little No Horse was a finalist for the National Book Award. Most recently, The Plague of Doves won the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. She currently lives in Minnesota and is the owner of Birchbark Books, an independent bookstore.
Both events are sponsored by the Burdine Johnson Foundation, the Wittliff Collections and the Texas State Department of English. Books will be available during and after the events through the University Bookstore and Barnes and Noble.
