Texas State theatre presents Chekhov’s ‘The Cherry Orchard’

The Department of Theatre and Dance at Texas State University-San Marcos presents Anton Chekhov’s play The Cherry Orchard March 27-31 and April 1.
Directed by Michael Costello and translated by Carol Rocamora, performances will be held 7:30 p.m. March 27-31 and 2 p.m. on April 1 on the main stage in the Theatre Center on campus, located at 430 Moon St.
The Cherry Orchard, both comic and poignant, focuses on a Russian estate at the beginning of the 20th century. Change is in the air as the as the aristocratic inhabitants of the main house go about blithely living their superficial lives, ignoring potentially catastrophic events on the horizon. The production will feature award-winning Austin actress Babs George.
