Texas State announces faculty promotions, tenure for 2012

Texas State University-San Marcos has promoted 44 faculty members and approved tenure for 34.

The measures will take effect on Sept. 1 and were approved by the Texas State University System Board of Regents during its regular meeting held May 24-25 in Beaumont on the campus of Lamar University.

Promoted from associate professor to professor (with academic department in parentheses) were Thomas C. Berno (art and design), Timothy H. Bonner (biology), Charles Britt Bousman (anthropology), Kevin A. Fall (counseling, leadership, adult education and school psychology), Caitlin Gabor (biology), Alberto Giordano (geography), Valentina Glajar (modern languages), Eric Kirby (management), Judith B. Oskam (journalism and mass communication), Nathan W. Pino (sociology), Cynthia Plotts (counseling, leadership, adult education and school psychology).
