Texas State University-San Marcos Department of Modern Languages will host its third annual poetry, music and dance festival for peace on Oct. 26 from 1-8 p.m.

The event will take place in Centennial room G02 and is sponsored by Sigma Delta Pi, the national collegiate Hispanic honor society.

This year’s event will honor the late famous Argentinean singer and songwriter Facundo Cabral, who was recently killed in Guatemala. Another highlight of the event will be special guest Clara Ronderos, a Colombian-born published poet and current professor at the University of Massachusetts. The event is open for anyone to attend and participate and will feature students and faculty reading Hispanic poets, playing Latin American music and performing dances.
