Consulate officer to address U.S.-Mexico relations

Jim Kuykendall, political officer at the United States Consulate in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, will give a presentation on U.S. and Mexico Relations at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at Texas State University-San Marcos.

The presentation will be in room 4-16.1 of the LBJ Student Center on campus. A reception with refreshments will precede the presentation at 6 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public.

Kuykendall’s presentation, which will cover issues relating to trade, politics and drug trafficking, is sponsored by the student chapter of the Latino cultural association Phi Iota Alpha, in memory of the Mexican political reformer Benito Juarez, who served five terms as Mexico’s president 1858-1872.
