The Kathy Dunn Hamrick Dance Company will perform “Here, Me, Now” at Texas State University-San Marcos Friday, April 8.
The event, sponsored by the College of Fine Arts and Communication along with the Department of Theatre and Dance, will be at 7:30 p.m. in Evans Auditorium on campus. Tickets cost $10 for general admission, $5 for students on a cash-only basis at the door.
Since its founding in 1999, KDH Dance Company has presented contemporary dances that illuminate everyday encounters and use both substance and wit to transform the mundane into the meaningful. Their work is shaped by personal experiences that inspire odd and amazing connections to the people around us. Audiences and critics alike applaud the choreography for its combined athleticism and expression, and, quite often, for its wit and humor. The dances are musical, thoughtfully composed and adroitly executed, while collaborations with composers, visual artists, musicians and filmmakers add a colorful and dynamic richness.
