Smart selected for global blue ribbon committee on business education

Denise Smart, dean of the McCoy College of Business Administration at Texas State University-San Marcos, has been selected to serve on the Blue Ribbon Committee on Accreditation Quality by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

Citing the need to prepare future business leaders for an increasingly complex landscape, the panel is composed of leaders in business education from around the world. It was formed to plan the future course of management education and to address advancements in technology, innovation and sustainability.

The committee will evaluate AACSB's accreditation standards and processes to align management education with business practices. The committee will furthermore set expectations for quality and continued improvement for business schools to demonstrate in the future.

The AACSB is an association of educational institutions, businesses and other organizations with the goal to advance management education. It also serves as a top accrediting agency of collegiate business schools and accounting programs worldwide. Its membership represents almost 1,200 members in 77 countries.
