Writing Center features workshops, guest speakers in October

The Writing Center at Texas State University-San Marcos invites all students, faculty and staff to attend its free educational events for the month of October. All sessions will be held in Flowers Hall G04.
October 20
Writing with Style
5-6 p.m.
The Writing Center’s trained tutors will teach a workshop on elements of style, including word selection and individual writing style.
October 21
Writing Beyond the University Speaker Series
“Going Global: Writing to Reach the World”
4 p.m.
Sam Martin, director of content strategy at frog design and editor-in-chief of frog’s print magazine “design mind,” will discuss the resurgent demand for content and the increasing need for writers and editors in a variety of professions. In addition to the above events, the Writing Center offers three GSP review sessions every week. The hour-long sessions are conducted by Writing Center tutors and take place Tuesdays at 12 p.m., Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and Thursdays at 5 p.m.
