Alkek, Round Rock participate in Texas Library Snapshot Day

The Albert B. Alkek Library and the Round Rock Higher Education Center Library Services of Texas State University-San Marcos are joining libraries across the state in participating in “Texas Library Snapshot Day” on Monday, Oct. 25, to show how important academic, public, school, and special libraries are to the state of Texas.

Staff at the Alkek Library and the RRHEC Library Services will compile statistics, customer comments, take photographs and other data chronicling a typical library day. The results collected at the Alkek Library and the Round Rock Higher Education Center Library Services will be added to those of other libraries across Texas to show how libraries provide invaluable services to Texans.

During Texas Library Snapshot Day held last spring, thousands of Texans flocked to their libraries to do research, complete school assignments, study, use computers and attend programs.

"Every day, Texas libraries provide invaluable services and resources to the people of our state," said Texas Library Association Executive Director Pat Smith. "In just one day, Texas libraries education, entertain, and contribute to the economic well-being of our state."

Compiled statistics and other data will be available in early November.

Texas Library Snapshot Day is a project of the Texas Library Association.
