Small Business Development Center announces 20th anniversary events

The Small Business Development Center at Texas State University-San Marcos is celebrating its 20th anniversary with four free training and networking events.

The free training program will focus on tips for writing a compelling and current business plan and offer opportunities to network with lenders, community organizations, and other resource partners who provide funding for business expansion or startups. The events will be held at four locations in the region served by the Texas State SBDC. Registration can be completed online at www.business.txstate.edu/sbdc.

The Texas State SBDC provides no-cost counseling services to help small businesses throughout Central Texas during every stage of the business cycle--whether the small businesses are start-up businesses or existing companies that need guidance in developing a business plan and budget, obtaining market research, applying for business loans, or in other areas during critical stages in a company’s growth. The Texas State SBDC also provides low-cost training in all areas of small business management.

“Our clients are looking for experienced professionals and business advice that will help their company obtain funding, increase productivity, and improve profitability,” says Larry Lucero, director of the Texas State SBDC. “By helping companies achieve their goals, we help the local economy and community.”
