Philosophy Dialogue Series examines sustainability, culture

The Philosophy Dialogue Series at Texas State University-San Marcos will examine sustainability and culture as its discussion topic for the week of Oct. 4-8. All events are held in room 132 in the Psychology Building on campus unless otherwise noted. Events are free and open to the public. Presentations and discussions for the week will cover the following issues: 

Monday, Oct. 4, 11 a.m.
Relational Human Ecology: Reconciling the Boundaries of Humans and Nature
Nichole McNiel (Sociology graduate student) and Vincent Lopes (Aquatic Biology)

Tuesday, Oct. 5, 12:30 p.m.
Nature and Culture
Sophists and Sages (Philosophy Dialogue class members)

Wednesday, Oct. 6, 12 p.m.
Artificial Intelligence, or, Replicants Need Love Too
JD Hill (Philosophy graduate student) and Dennis Belline (Philosophy student)

Thursday, Oct. 7, 12:30 p.m.
Sustainability, Desire and the Culture of Stuff

Open Forum
Phi Sigma Tau, the Philosophy Honor Society
