The 6th Annual Mathematics for English Language Learners (MELL) Conference will be held at Texas State University-San Marcos in the LBJ Student Center July 8-10.
Hosted by the College of Education and the College of Science, the conference will feature 28 concurrent sessions for more than 360 attending educators who are committed to improving the instruction of ELL students in grades 5-12. The participants will include teachers, school district administrators, Regional Education Service Center staff members and university faculty members from across the state of Texas.
The Mathematics for English Language Learners (MELL) Initiative is a partnership between the Texas State University System, its component universities and the Texas Education Agency. The purpose of this multi-year effort is to develop instructional resources to increase the effectiveness of mathematics instruction for ELL students in K-12 schools and to enhance the preparation of teachers to better serve the needs of ELL students.
