School of Music hosts Trombone Ensemble concert

The School of Music at Texas State University-San Marcos will host its annual spring concert of the Trombone Ensemble 8 p.m. April 14 in Evans Auditorium.
Under the direction of Charles R. Hurt, the ensemble will perform Italian March by G. Bonelli, Diversions by Fisher Tull, Reflections and Rattledance by John Cheetham, Three Short Sacred Concertos by Heinrich Schütz, It’s Only A Paper Moon by Harold Arlen, and Trombonology by Tommy Dorsey. Featured on the Heinrich Schütz will be Cynthia Gonzalez, Soprano.
Cynthia I. Gonzales is a music theorist and a professional soprano with degrees from the University of North Texas and from Harvard University. She is an associate professor at Texas State where she serves as coordinator of theory. Since 1996, she has performed with the Austin-based, Grammy-nominated professional choral ensemble Conspirare.
