Miller to deliver lectures on bioethics at Texas State

Jessica Miller, a professor of philosophy and a clinical bioethicist at the University of Maine, will deliver two lectures on bioethics Tuesday, April 27, on the campus of Texas State University-San Marcos.

Miller will speak on the topic “Feminist Bioethics: What it is and why it matters” at 12:30 p.m. in Room 132 of the Psychology Building.

She will speak on “How the new brain science is changing the way we think about ethics” at 3:30 p.m. in Room 407 of the Lampasas Building.

Both lectures are free and open to the public.

Miller’s work deals with a broad range of ethical issues in contemporary medicine, including ethics and addiction, ethics in research, ethics in rural medicine, ethics at the end of life, neuroethics and trust.
