The American Mathematical Society Epsilon Fund has given a grant to the Mathworks program at Texas State University-San Marcos to help provide scholarships for the 2010 Honors Summer Math Camp (HSMC).
The grant will ensure interested students can attend the six-week program, regardless of financial background.
The Epsilon Fund, which has honored the HSMC nine times, awards grants of up to $15,000 in support of summer mathematics programs for talented high school students. The HSMC joins nine other programs, including those affiliated with Stanford University and MIT, in receiving the award this year.
The annual Mathworks HSMC, which this year will be held June 20-July 31, is an intensive program that offers challenging courses for gifted high school mathematics students.
