"Junk Melodrama" comes to Texas State University-San Marcos when RoHo Productions' quirky La Putain Avec Les Fleurs takes the stage 7:30 p.m. March 30 in Evans Auditorium on campus.
The performance is part of the 2009-10 University Arts Encore Series.
A theatrical performance that defies easy description, La Putain Avec Les Fleurs features an explosion of song, dance, pantomime, clowning, puppetry and a big French bear. Set in 1940's France, a troupe of vagabond performers known as "Theatre Des Funambules," along with their live acoustic avant-garde band, Bric-a-Brac, present the story of Baptiste, the world's greatest clown, and his journey to become a real man.
Admission to the performance is $10 for general admission, $5 for students. Free event parking is available in the Pleasant Street Parking Garage.
