Texas State University-San Marcos will host a Fashion Merchandising Career Forum 7:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. March 25 in the LBJ Student Center Ballroom.
The keynote speaker is Janelle Havner, executive vice president of store administration and merchandise for Kohl's. The event is sponsored by the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. Admission is $10, which includes breakfast and lunch.
Prior to joining Kohl's in 2002, Havner served in a variety of field management positions within Gap, Inc., most recently as regional manager in the southeast. She has 25 years of retail experience.
The array of allied career opportunities available in the fast-paced fashion merchandising industry will be in the spotlight as college and university students from across the central and south Texas region interact with executives from the nation’s premier retailers. Highlights of the forum include an executive development program and internship information and recruitment; career apparel fashion show hosted by Dillard’s; and an evening mall crawl shopping/social experience.
Pre-registration is required and forms are due by March 18 to the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. For more information please contact Bobbie Moore at bm26@txstate.edu or visit http://www.fcs.txstate.edu/degrees-programs/fm/fmcf.html.
