In an ongoing effort to help as many students as possible, the Writing Center at Texas State University-San Marcos has introduced drop-in tutoring hours staffed exclusively by graduate students.
The new offering is “a great new project that is expanding our services,” said Writing Center Coordinator Sonia Arellano.
Last year, the center held approximately 3,500 tutoring appointments from all disciplines and levels. For the past 25 years the Writing Center has been dedicated to helping Texas State students do their best work through individual tutoring, workshops, and GSP review sessions.
The need for this new service was determined by a survey which indicated a need for more tutors, said Writing Center Director Nancy Wilson.
Drop-in tutoring is now available Monday through Friday during the following hours:
Monday 2–6 p.m.
Tuesday 11 a.m.–4 p.m.
Wednesday 12–4 p.m.
Thursday 3–7 p.m.
Drop-in hours are also posted at writingcenter.txstate.edu.
The Writing Center staff is excited about this opportunity to help more students without the need for appointments.
