Art and Design students earn recognition at Houston awards show

The Texas State University-San Marcos graduate and undergraduate programs in the School of Art and Design were well-represented at the Art Directors Club of Houston 2009 Award Show.

"Our success at the awards show is a credit to the instructors and the students, and puts a great light on our faculty and the Communication Design programs – both graduate and undergraduate," said Christine Haney, Communication Design M.F.A. program, School of Art and Design. "Earning the awards not only gives the students positive reinforcement for their efforts, it is also a valuable recognition to exhibit on a resume for future employment."

The awards show took place Nov. 13 at the Doubletree Hotel in Houston. The judges were professionals, teachers and students in numerous areas of art, advertising, graphic design and other related fields.

The Art Directors Club of Houston is a non-profit organization for people involved in all fields of advertising and graphic design. Its membership includes professionals, teachers and students alike.
