And article by Rahul Chakraborty, an assistant professor with the Department of Communication Disorders at Texas State University-San Marcos, has been selected for the 2008 Editor’s Award for the speech section of the Journal of Speech-Language and Hearing Research.
The peer-reviewed published article, “Physiological Indices of Bilingualism: Oral-Motor Coordination and Speech Rate in Bengali-English,” was chosen by the editor and associate editor as meeting the highest quality standards in research design, presentation and impact for a given year. This is the most prestigious national research award that a professor in the field of communication disorders can receive.
Chakraborty will be presented the award Nov. 20 during an awards ceremony at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s annual convention.
