The Texas State University-San Marcos Department of Theatre and Dance invites students, faculty and the community to the All Spring Musical Review on the main stage of the Theatre Center April 21-25 at 7:30 p.m. and April 26 at 2 p.m.
Approximately 32 songs and stage performances from the compositions of John Kander and Fred Ebb will be featured in a review entitled “The World Goes 'Round.” Students will perform theatre classics from the famous musicals of “Chicago,” “Cabaret,” “New York, New York” and more.
“What's exciting about the show is the quality of the music,” said Greg White, director of musical theatre. “It's entertaining, but it's got a tremendous amount of depth, too.”
White said the event will celebrate Texas State's recent efforts to consolidate resources, and department collaboration for the bachelor of fine arts in musical theatre degree. The review will showcase Texas State student talent in dance, music, acting, production and a variety of other skills.
“Musical theatre is the most collaborative art form that exists. It's also one of the most popular to audiences,” White said. “I think it's important to note that these aren't just theatre, dance and music students, but they're Texas State students.”
Tickets for the event will be $10 general admission and $7 for students. For more information regarding this event, contact the Texas State box office at (512) 245-2204.
