The Texas State University-San Marcos Department of Theatre and Dance presents Charles Pascoe’s acclaimed children’s play, Foxtales, April 28-May 3.
The show will run April 28-May 2 at 7:30 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee performance May 3 on the main stage in the Theatre Center, located at 430 Moon Street on campus.
Written by Pascoe and directed by Tracy Goodwin, Foxtales follows the adventures of Sonny Fox who wants to find out about the rest of the world. He meets other animals along the way who teach him valuable lessons about the importance of friendship and working together. Each encounter has a moral and each moral is presented in song, drawn freely from the fox fables of Aesop.
The musical play has earned wide critical praise. It has been produced at the International Children’s Festival held at Wolftrap in Fairfax, Va., and Texas State students performed it on a 12-show tour of Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia in 1995. Foxtales also won first place in the 2003 Festival of Anglophone Theatrical Societies (F.E.A.T.S) in Brussels, Belgium.
Admission is $5 for all seats. For additional information contact (512) 245-2147.
