Girl Scouts experience Forensic Anthropology Day

The Forensic Anthropology Center at Texas State University-San Marcos will host area Girl Scouts during Forensic Anthropology Day Saturday, Feb. 7 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Approximately 38 Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Senior Ambassadors along with registered parents will participate in the event at the Freeman Ranch House. Six stations featuring age-appropriate forensic anthropology activities will be set up to teach the young women the importance of forensic anthropology and how it is used in everyday life to help solve crimes as seen on television shows like Bones and CSI.

Each young woman will receive a participation badge and a brown crime scene bag sealed with evidence tape containing a t-shirt, the workshop manual, handouts, fun skeleton stuff and a certificate of attendance.
