‘Dead Presidents Club’ takes stage at Texas State

The Department of Theatre and Dance at Texas State University-San Marcos, in partnership with the Austin Playhouse presents Larry L. King’s The Dead Presidents’ Club Nov. 5-9. This production is a Common Experience event.
Performances will be Nov. 5-8 at 7:30 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee performance Nov. 9 in Evans Auditorium on the Texas State campus.
The Dead Presidents’ Club is a fantasy-comedyfeaturing Calvin Coolidge, Harry S. Truman, Lyndon B. Johnson, and Richard Nixon who are being detained in post-existence barracks. Their detainers are a band of prissy, scrutinizing saints charged with determining the presidents’ eternal fate. The production is a lighthearted exploration of the strengths and foibles of each of these diverse national characters.
Admission is $10 for the general public and $7 for students with a Texas State ID. Tickets can be purchased at the University Box Office in the Theatre Center, located at the corner of Moon Street and University Drive and available by phone at (512) 245-2204.
