Applied Arts dean honored by Peruvian university

Jaime Chahin, dean of the college of applied arts at Texas State University-San Marcos, has been awarded an honorary professorship by the school of graduate studies at Universidad Nacional Mayor De San Marcos in Lima, Peru.
The award was presented to Chahin for his service to academia and society by Luis Fernando Izquierdo Vásquez, director of the university. Chahin was invited to the university to present lectures during his visit. Texas State has signed an academic agreement with Universidad Nacional Mayor De San Marcos, which was the first University established in the Western Hemisphere.
