Applying for scholarships through the College of Education at Texas State University-San Marcos is now as simple as a click of the mouse.
A new software program allows education students to apply for scholarships online through the College of Education Web site. Academic Budget Specialist Kris Kahler said the new software streamlines the application process.
“We are very excited about the simplicity of this new program,” Kahler said. “It makes it easier for students to apply. It is also very helpful to faculty scholarship committee members who will no longer have to sort through hundreds of applications.”
The software eliminates the need for education majors to complete individual applications for each scholarship. With the new system, only one application is completed. The software then matches that application to the scholarships the applicant is eligible for. Students will also be able to request recommendation letters through the system.
Scholarship applications are accepted through Feb. 1. Students applying for the College of Education scholarships must be accepted Texas State students with education majors.
Departments in the College of Education offer a variety of scholarships to eligible and qualified students. Scholarships generally range from $1,000 to $2,000 per semester.
To apply visit http://www.education.txstate.edu/advising/prospective-students/scholarships.html and follow the three step directions to create an account and complete an application. For more information contact Kris Kahler at (512) 245-1276.
