University prepares for planned power outage

Texas State University-San Marcos will undergo a planned power outage Saturday, Oct. 27.

The outage will begin at 5 a.m. and last to approximately midnight. The purpose of the outage is to allow the relocation of one of the two high voltage feeders to the Co-generation Plant from San Marcos Electric Utility and to replace an internal campus feeder that failed on Oct. 16.

The following Texas State buildings will be affected by the power outage:

* These buildings have emergency generators and will have limited power.  

Power to the LBJ Student Center, MCSB and the cell phone towers on Jackson Hall will be restored by 9:30 a.m. but will be turned off again at approximately 8 p.m. All power is expected to be restored by approximately midnight.
