Weaver named Employee of the Year

SAN MARCOS – Roxie Weaver, supervisor in the Human Resources Department, has been named the 2006-07 Staff Employee of the Year at Texas State University-San Marcos.
Weaver was honored at a luncheon Aug. 8 and was presented her award by Texas State President Denise M. Trauth.
Trauth said of Weaver, “She is known as the person to go to for answers, interpretations and encouragement. She is recognized across campus for her wealth of knowledge about overall university policies and about her area in particular. She can do multiple things at once with continual interruption, and will always go the extra mile with patience, dedication and good humor.”
Weaver has been employed at Texas State for almost 15 years. In her job, she deals with payroll issues, employment practices, compliance with university policies and procedures, salary reviews, and supervises staff and student workers.
Weaver was selected as Employee of the Year from a slate of 12 finalists who had been named Employee of the Month during the 2006-07 fiscal year.
The other 11 finalists were MarJann Warren, administrative assistant III, Department of CIS and Quantitative Methods; LaDonna Tate, administrative assistant III, Health Professions; Hortencia Hernandez, administrative assistant III, School of Social Work; Allison Glass, graduate staff academic advisor, Geography Department; Bobbie Brandenburg, senior human resources assistant, Human Resources; Carol Sue Cole, administrative assistant III, Parent Relations; Selma Selvera, human resources representative, Human Resources; Arlene Harborth, financial aid assistant, Financial Aid and Scholarships; Kathy Scott, senior administrative assistant, College of Liberal Arts; Valerie Anderson, professional development assistant, Professional Development; and Yuvon Robin, administrative assistant III,Clinical Laboratory Science.
