Eli Young Band headlines Riverfest 2007

The Student Association for Campus Activities (SACA), the LBJ Student Center and KTSW-89.9 FM are sponsoring the 4th annual Riverfest celebration, a free concert and festival on Wednesday, April 25th from 6-11 p.m.

The festival is open to the public. Due to inclement weather, the event has been moved to Strahan Coliseum on the campus of Texas State University-San Marcos.

Scheduled bands begin with Aaron Watson, Bob Schneider and lastly, The Eli Young Band.

Texas State’s radio station, KTSW-89.9 FM, will also be at Riverfest to celebrate their 15th year as “the other side of radio” by presenting a pre-show lineup with performances by local artists in the order of Carley Wolf, Gobi, Three Leaf, and the Low Down Family String Band from 2-6 p.m.

Festival games will also commence from 2-6 p.m. Activities include a dunking booth, pie throwing contest and free giveaways.

A homemade kite-flying contest will be held from 2-4 p.m. with prizes awarded in the categories of largest, smallest and most unusual. Kites may either be constructed at home or in the park.

Those attending need to be sure to leave beverages at home or will need to dispose of them as they enter, unless they are bringing sealed bottles of water. Free sno-cones and cotton candy will be provided at the event, with various vendors selling other food and beverages. Band t-shirts will be available for purchase on-site.

If Sewell Park is rained out, either Strahan Coliseum or the LBJ Student Center ballroom will be used. Check the SACA website at www.lbjsc.txstate.edu/saca in the case of acclimate weather or for directions.
