"Invisible Children" tour holds screening of documentary

The Invisible Children National Tour will make a stop at Texas State University-San Marcos on April 10 for a 6 p.m. screening of the documentary “Invisible Children” in the LBJ Student Center Teaching Theater.

The screening, sponsored by the Baptist Student Ministry at Texas State, is an extension of the Invisible Children Movement, inspired by the film. The screening is free and open to the public.

“Invisible Children it is a documentary made be three American boys who went to Africa in search of a story and truth,” explained Sarah Tarhini, a freshman from Tomball. “They stumbled upon thousands upon thousands of children in Uganda that were being forced to live in inhumane conditions and were being abducted and forced to fight as child soldiers for the rebel army.”

“There has a been a lot of hard work in preparing for the tour to come to Texas State but we realize that it's not about us,” she said. “We have been called idealists but our ideals are becoming realities.”
