Texas State, San Marcos play role tonight on 'Friday Night Lights'

Texas State University and the city of San Marcos will play important roles in this evening’s episode of the NBC series Friday Night Lights.

Many of the scenes from this evening’s episode, Best Laid Plans, were shot at Texas State and in San Marcos. It is scheduled for telecast at 7 p.m. on NBC.

Texas State head football coach Brad Wright has a speaking role in the program. Several scenes were shot at Bobcat Stadium which, in the television program, will be the football stadium at a mythical university known as Texas Methodist University.

Other scenes were shot at Texas State’s Aqua Sports Center, San Marcos City Hall and the San Marcos Police Department. Additionally, a parade sequence was filmed in downtown San Marcos.
