The McCoy College of Business Administration at Texas State University-San Marcos is one of 28 institutions of higher learning to successfully complete accreditation renewal in business from AACSB International--the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
As required by AACSB standards, all accredited schools must go through a peer review every five years in order to maintain their accreditation. Founded in 1916, AACSB is the longest serving and largest global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting. Other schools earning renewed accreditation alongside Texas State include Auburn University, the University of Colorado, the University of California-Berkeley, the State University of New York-Albany and Southern Methodist University.
“It takes a great deal of commitment and determination to earn AACSB accreditation,” said Jerry Trapnell, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International. “These schools have met rigorous standards of excellence, as well as made a commitment to ongoing improvement that ensures that they will deliver a high quality education to students.”
