Texas State prepares for fall commencement

SAN MARCOS — State Rep. Patrick Rose will deliver the keynote commencement address at one of four graduation ceremonies scheduled Friday and Saturday, Dec. 15 and 16, at Texas State University-San Marcos.
Rose is serving his second term as a member of the Texas House of Representatives. He is the vice chair of the House Committee on Civil Practices and also serves as a member of the Higher Education Committee and the Calendars Committee. He represents House District 45, which covers Blanco, Caldwell and Hays counties.
Rose will speak at the ceremony to be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, in Strahan Coliseum. Degree candidates from the College of Science and the McCoy College of Business Administration will attend the Saturday morning ceremony.
Degree candidates from the College of Liberal Arts will attend the ceremony to be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15.
Degree candidates from the colleges of Applied Arts and Fine Arts and Communication will attend the ceremony to be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15.
Degree candidates from the colleges of Education and Health Professions will attend the ceremony to be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16.
All ceremonies will be held at Strahan Coliseum on the Texas State campus.
A total of 2,200 students are candidates for undergraduate and graduate degrees this fall at Texas State.
