Magno & Lil Mario headline rap acts performing at 2006 RecJam

SAN MARCOS — Sewell Park at Texas State University-San Marcos will become a virtual Mecca for hip hop fans this weekend, as eight regional rap acts take the stage as part of the Fifth Annual RecJam Aug. 19.
RecJam, sponsored by the LBJ Student Center and the Campus Recreation Department, features a free festival open to the general public in Sewell Park along the banks of the San Marcos River. Free food and great music, along with informative booths sponsored by local businesses and student organizations will be ongoing from 7-11 p.m. Activities include rock climbing, a bungee run, bouncy boxing, a Velcro-wall and a classic motorcycle exhibition. Texas State and Wells Fargo will also introduce the Wells Fargo/Texas State BobcatCard, providing students with an opportunity to learn how they can benefit from this new service this year.
Scheduled rap artists include Apoetaswell, J-Ash, Major League Players, Jake, Set for Life (Dok Holiday), QuickWidit, Ryno & Chalie Boy and Magno & Lil Mario. A 10:30 p.m. group set will wrap up the evening’s festivities.
