Texas State prepares for August commencement

SAN MARCOS — Texas Secretary of State Roger Williams will be the keynote speaker at one of three commencement exercises to be held Friday and Saturday, Aug. 11 and 12, on the campus of Texas State University-San Marcos.
As Secretary of State, Williams serves as chief election officer of Texas, assisting county election officials and ensuring the uniform application and interpretation of election laws throughout the state. Williams will speak during the ceremony scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 12, at 9:30 a.m. in Strahan Coliseum. Degree candidates from the colleges of Education, Health Professions and Science will attend the Saturday morning ceremony.
Degree candidates from the College of Applied Arts and the McCoy College of Business Administration will attend the ceremony to be held Friday, Aug. 11, at 2 p.m. in Strahan Coliseum.
Degree candidates from the colleges of Fine Arts and Communication and Liberal Arts will attend the ceremony to be held Friday, Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. in Strahan Coliseum.
A total of 1,380 students are candidates for undergraduate and graduate degrees at Texas State this summer.
