Ebony Players present readings of slave narratives at Texas State

SAN MARCOS—The Ebony Players will present The Exploration of Slavery Thursday, Feb. 24 in celebration of Black History Month at Texas State University-San Marcos.
The performance will be at 7 p.m. in the Alkek Teaching Theatre on campus. Admission is free for the event.
The Exploration of Slavery is a compelling examination of life as a slave in America. Music, pictures and dramatic readings showcase the interactive museum, which leads to the viewing of the extraordinary HBO documentary, Unchained Memories: Reading of Slave Narratives. Viewers are strongly cautioned that the production contains some graphic language and content.
Ebony Players is a multicultural organization that focuses on expelling the negative images and portrayals of African Americans, while uplifting a positive depiction of their struggles and progress via theatrical arts.
