HUB forum and spot bid fair brings together state agencies, vendors

SAN MARCOS — As part of Texas State University-San Marcos’ ongoing efforts to develop working relationships with Historically Underutilized Businesses, “The Stars of Texas,” a combined HUB forum and spot bid fair, will by held Nov. 9 from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the LBJ Student Center at Texas State.

Co-sponsored by State Senator Royce West, the event will feature an array of state agencies as well as Hays County certified HUB vendors. Co-hosts for the event, along with Texas State, include the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Texas System, Texas A&M University, the Texas A&M University System and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Texas State President Denise Trauth and West will address the HUB forum, and the Texas Building and Procurement Commission will present a track of educational programs beneficial to both vendors and agencies. Expected topics include new rules for subcontracting requirements and doing business with the state of Texas.
