United We Sing honors 9/11 victims, heroes
SAN MARCOS – United We Sing, a community concert honoring the victims and heroes of 9/11, will be held 8 p.m. Sept. 9 at Evans Auditorium on the Texas State University-San Marcos campus. Co-sponsored by the Heart Of Texas Chorus and the Texas State University Friends of Fine Arts and Communication, the concert assembles a collection of outstanding musical talent from San Marcos and surrounding areas.
United We Sing will be a tribute to the valor and sacrifice of the heroes who made America proud by rendering assistance to the victims of the terror attacks on September 11, 2001, as well as a tribute to all who have served in our country’s military. Honorees of the evening will be fire-fighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical technicians and military veterans.
The concert is free and open to the public. Free event parking will be available in the parking garage at the corner of Pleasant Street and North LBJ on the Texas State campus. A parking attendant will be on duty. Tax deductible contributions to assist in covering expenses are welcome, and may be sent to “Heart Of Texas Chorus,” c/o Rick Kinsey, Corridor Financial, 829 North LBJ Drive, Suite 103, San Marcos, TX 78666.
