Patsy Cline… A Little Bit of Heaven
SAN MARCOS – The decades will roll back to the Golden Age of country music when Texas State University-San Marcos College of Fine Art and Communication presents Patsy Cline… A Little Bit of Heaven at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 8-9 and 2 p.m. Oct. 10.
Reserved seating tickets are available at $15 for the general public, $8 for Texas State students. Co-sponsored by Wells Fargo, all proceeds will benefit the Reed Parr Fine Arts Endowment. The PSH Foundation of Wimberley will contribute an amount equal to the total ticket sales to the Reed Parr Endowment. Dr. Richard Cheatham, Dean of Fine Arts and Communication, notes that ?the generosity of the PSH Foundation and the corporate sponsorship of Wells Fargo will allow us to add around $25,000 to the Reed Parr Endowment through these three performances?. Patsy Cline... A Little Bit of Heaven features 21 songs made famous by the legendary Cline, who died in 1963 at the age of 30. The musical selection runs the gamut of such well-known hits as “Crazy” and “Walking After Midnight” to lesser-known gems as “That’s My Desire,” “Imagine That” and “Bill Bailey.” Through the memories of Charlie Thorton (portrayed by Cheatham); and the mesmerizing vocals of Cline (portrayed by Cali McCord), the audience is transported through the years to experience Cline performances in venues as diverse as drive-in theatres to glamorous New Year’s Eve galas in New York City. The show will be presented on the main stage of the Theatre Center on campus. Media coverage of this project is invited, and press passes are available.
