Grading Bush: An Interdisciplinary Symposium
SAN MARCOS — Six professors from Texas State University-San Marcos will evaluate the performance of President George W. Bush Nov. 18 in the Alkek Teaching Theater on campus. The symposium begins at 5 p.m., is free and open to the entire university community.
Participating faculty, drawn from several departments, represent a wide spectrum of perspectives and political persuasions. They will evaluate President Bush in three categories: the conduct of war and foreign policy; management of the economy; and stewardship of the environment.
Symposium panelists will be Brock Brown, Ph.D., Geography, Ruby Kishan, Ph.D., Finance and Economics, former U.S. Senator Bob Krueger, Ed Milhakanin, Ph.D., Political Science, Patricia Parent, Ph.D., Political Science, and James Pohl, Ph.D., History. Jeffrey Gordon, Ph.D., Philosophy, will moderate.
Questions from the audience are encouraged, and all will be invited to participate in the assignment of grades to the President. An on-line forum for "Grading Bush" has also been set up in connection with this event. Anyone interested in grading the performance of President Bush can e-mail Gordon at jg14@txstate.edu to request an anonymous electronic ballot.
