SWT Council of Deans lend support to “Project Graduation”
SAN MARCOS — The Council of Deans at Southwest Texas State University presented a check Tuesday in support of San Marcos High School’s Project Graduation 2003.
Project Graduation organizes an alcohol- and drug-free all-night party to provide high school students with a safe and fun alternative for post-graduation celebrations. The party this year will be Saturday, May 31, following San Marcos High School graduation.
Robert Gratz, Vice President for Academic Affairs presented the donation to Leandra Contreras, Project Graduation co-chair and a member of the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs staff at SWT. San Marcos High School seniors Staci Hofmann, Ricardo Mendez, Michael Rudnicki, Elinor Denny and Valerie Gomez were also on hand to accept the donation. Others present at the ceremony included: Jaime Chahin, Dean of the College of Applied Arts; Denise Smart, Dean of the College of Business Administration; John Beck, Dean of the College of Education; Rickard Cheatham, Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communication; Ruth Welborn, Acting Dean of the College of Health Professions; Ann Marie Ellis, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts; Ron Brown, Dean of University College; Gene Martin, Director of Distance Learning; and Greg Passty, Associate Dean of the College of Science.
