Denise M. Trauth will be honored as the ninth president of Southwest Texas State University during a presidential investiture ceremony at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, in Strahan Coliseum on the SWT campus.
The theme for the ceremony is Claiming Tomorrow: A Shared Vision. The event is free and open to the public. It is expected to last about two hours.
Media coverage of Trauth’s investiture is welcomed. Limited media parking will be available in the small parking lot west of Strahan Coliseum, between the coliseum and the San Marcos River. Additional parking will be available in the main coliseum parking lot east of Strahan Coliseum.
Strahan Coliseum is one mile west of Interstate 35 on Aquarena Springs Drive.
Trauth was named on June 11, 2002, to succeed Jerome Supple as president of SWT. She reported to work on Aug. 7. Her investiture ceremony coincides with the first regular meeting at SWT of the Texas State University System Board of Regents since she was introduced as the next president last June.
