Monosmith named SWT Employee of the Year
SAN MARCOS, TEXAS — Deborah Monosmith has been named Employee of the Year for the 2000-2001 academic year at Southwest Texas State University.
SWT President Jerome Supple presented Monosmith with the award at a special ceremony held Tuesday, Aug. 21, on the San Marcos campus.
Monosmith is a library assistant at SWT’s Albert B. Alkek Library. She has been employed at SWT since 1977. Monosmith oversees the operations of the circulation unit at the Alkek Library and deals with the library’s automated systems, supervises staff in the circulation unit and assists library patrons.
In addition to her normal workload, she has been active on campus and library committees. She serves on the Ticket Appeals Committee, the Library Staff Development Program Committee and is chair of the Library Staff Recognition and Awards Committee. She also serves as the library safety officer. She has also assisted with the admissions process at the Multiinstitution Teaching Center in Round Rock.
Monosmith and her husband, John, reside in New Braunfels.
