Highest ranking Army woman lectures at SWT
SAN MARCOS, TEXAS — Lt. General Claudia J. Kennedy, U.S. Army, Ret. is lecturing on “Leadership: Hallmarks and Hindrances” at 7 p.m. on Nov. 13, 2000 on the 11 floor of the J.C. Kellam Administration Building at Southwest Texas State University.
Kennedy retired in June of 2000 as America’s highest-ranking Army female, a Three Star General. Kennedy held the highest position in military intelligence with specialties in cryptology (code breaking) and electronic warfare (analyzing the significance of intercepted signals and conversations).
While on duty, Kennedy was responsible for more than 45,000 soldiers involved in worldwide military intelligence. Former Chief of Staff Dennis Reimer calls Kennedy a superb officer and team builder who has the unique ability to bring out the best in people. She was featured in both More and Working Woman in March of 2000.
